Lady braids cotton mop strings and glues them onto a plastic bucket. This hack is going viral everywhere!

Measure the height and circumference of your plastic bucket to determine how much mop string you will need.
Cut the mop strings into equal lengths that can be easily braided. For a tighter braid, use three separate strings for each braid.
Begin braiding the mop strings. Secure the ends with a small amount of hot glue to prevent unraveling.
Starting from the bottom of the bucket, use the hot glue gun to attach the end of one braid. Wrap the braid around the bucket, gluing it in place as you go.
Continue to glue and wrap the braided strings in a spiral pattern, working your way up to the top of the bucket.
Once the entire bucket is covered, trim any excess strings and secure all ends with hot glue.
Allow the glue to set completely before using your new farmhouse basket.
Variations & Tips
For a different look, consider using colored mop strings or dyeing the cotton strings before braiding to match your home decor. You can also experiment with different braiding techniques to create varied textures. If you prefer a more natural appearance, try using jute or sisal rope instead of cotton mop strings. Additionally, adding decorative elements like ribbons or fabric strips can personalize your basket and give it a unique touch.
