3-Cheese Sausage Lasagna Roll-Ups

Ingredients:

  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 1 lb Italian sausage, crumbled
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil or parsley, for garnish (optional)

Preparation:

  1. Cook the Sausage:
    • In a skillet, cook the crumbled sausage over medium heat until browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
    • Drain excess fat and set aside to cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the  Cheese Filling:
    • In a large bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, beaten egg, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt and pepper.
    • Mix until smooth and well combined. Stir in the cooked sausage.
  1. Assemble the Roll-Ups:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Take a lasagna noodle and spread a generous amount of the cheese and sausage mixture over the noodle.
    • Roll the noodle up tightly and place it seam-side down in the baking dish. Repeat with the remaining noodles.
  2. Top with Sauce and Cheese:
    • Once all the roll-ups are in the dish, cover them with the remaining marinara sauce.
    • Sprinkle any leftover mozzarella or Parmesan cheese over the top.
  1. Bake:
    • Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  2. Serve and Enjoy:
    • Let the lasagna roll-ups rest for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley, if desired.
