Candied Bacon Crackers

Ingredients

  • 1 sleeve buttery crackers (like Club or Ritz crackers, about 30 crackers)
  • 10–12 slices bacon, cut into thirds
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for a little heat)
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper (for extra flavor)
  • Maple syrup (optional)

Instructions

Step 1: Preheat and Prepare

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with foil for easy cleanup, and place a wire rack on top. This allows the bacon grease to drip down while baking.

Step 2: Arrange the Crackers

  1. Lay the crackers in a single layer on the wire rack. Make sure they don’t overlap.

Step 3: Top with Bacon

  1. Cut the bacon slices into thirds so they fit neatly over the crackers.
  2. Place a piece of bacon on top of each cracker.

Step 4: Add Brown Sugar and Seasoning

  1. Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of brown sugar on top of each piece of bacon.
  2. If using, sprinkle a tiny pinch of cayenne pepperand black pepper on each cracker for extra flavor.
  3. For an optional twist, drizzle a small amount of maple syrup over the bacon.
